Colectivo Armadillo

Welcome to a memorial event on the 9th anniversary of the 43 Ayotzinapa normalistas students who were forcibly disappeared by the Mexican police forces in the city of Iguala on the night of September 26, 2014. The evening is co-organized by the Museum of Impossible Forums, FRAYBA, CNI Finnish Visit Coordination Group, and Armadillo Collective.Open doors 18:00Screening 18:15-19:45Food and Discussion 20:00-21:00The Ayotzinapa 43 case became a social movement both nationally and globally. The event aims to highlight the importance of international solidarity and mutual-aid in shaping movements that address the many violent acts that would otherwise be invisiblized outside of the local gaze. Let's inspire each other to create new responses to the violent realities of the global South and North. We will watch Enrique Garcia Meza's documentary "Ayotzinapa, El Paso de la Tortuga (2018)."Additionally, we will serve delicious Mexican food to gather donations for the visit of a delegation from the CNI (Members of the National Indigenous Congress) and FRAYBA (Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas Human Rights Center) to Finland in spring 2024. After the event, we welcome you to an informal meetup where we will provide more details about the coming CNI and FRAYBA visit and how to engage.More on Mexico's 'normalistas' and the current status of this case:https://sites.sandiego.edu/tbi-foe/2015/04/14/who-are-mexicos-normalistas-by-paula-chouza-el-pais/https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/8/2/mexicos-missing-students-case-investigators-recount-challenges-of-probeSee accessibility information:https://www.museumofimpossibleforms.org/visit
